Location: Dora St, Doornfontein, Johannesburg, 2094
The multipurpose Johannesburg Stadium is in the Doornfontein suburb of Johannesburg. It was originally built as an athletics stadium but has since been used for multipurpose events such as boxing, wrestling, exhibitions, sporting spectacles, banquets, arts and culture festivals, and many community events.
It is mostly used as a training ground for Orlando Pirates Football Club and the Golden Lions Rugby Union.
The stadium can accommodate 37,500 seated and approximately 10,000 – 15,000 spectators on the floor area. The unique design allows spectators to be close to all activities on the field and track, while excellent site lines give superb viewing from all seats.
